Frostburg State University Appalachian Festival September 19, 2009

A celebration of regionalism, the Festival boasts two music stages, performances, lectures and discussions, numerous artisans, hands-on workshops, multiple children's activities, and regional foods. The capstone concert features the legendary Jean Ritchie and sons and Zane and Hugh Campbell, nephews of the late song writer and performer Ola Belle Reed. Saturday events include the Free Daytime Festival including 20 music performances, storytelling, a performance by Front & Center Stage Productions, an old fashioned hoedown by the Barnstormers and more! Festivities conclude with Jean Ritchie’s concert at the Historic Palace Theatre--evening event is ticketed.
