The Ghana Rural Library Project is a non-profit organization that believes in sustainibility, empowerment, and education. We know that providing the impetus for education and literacy is key for impoverished, rural ghanian communities to lift themselves out of poverty. We build libraries and expand worldviews, and the Ghanians do the rest. Our second library trip will be this summer, from May 19 to July 1st.

On May 3rd, 2008, we're hosting a silent auction of original art pieces, made or donated specifically for this cause. All proceeds from the event will go 100% toward the Ghana Rural Library Project.
The event will be called “From the Ground Up.” The most joyous things in life – freedom, love, self-realization – they all begin at the root of one’s being and must be built, like a library must be built, from the ground up before progress can be made.

If you would like more information about the event, please contact Sarah Calandro at [email protected].
