From Behind the Mask: the Poetry of Voice February 10, 2008

Explore and celebrate the art of writing narrative poetry through the many stories showcased in 'Excavating Egypt: Great Discoveries from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.' Participants learn how to blend their voices with the adventurous spirit of the early days of Egyptian civilization. An afternoon Egyptian tea is part of the day's activities. Facilitator Charlene Spearen, Columbia Museum of Art's poet-in-residence, and guest poets from the South Carolina Poetry Initiative participate.
