Be among the first in San Francisco to take a look inside Nan Kempner’s legendary closet, this Friday night at the de Young Museum. The exhibition, "Nan Kempner: American Chic," immortalizes the unparalleled style of this San Francisco native. In honor of the opening of the new exhibition, Harold Koda, curator-in-charge of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will give a lecture entitled, “Dress Codes,” at 7:00 pm in the Koret Auditorium. Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to learn from Koda, a style icon in his own right, who sets the stage for Nan’s renowned taste and fashion collection. Also, channel your inner fashionista at the de Young’s new fashion photo booth. Use a wide range of accessories to create a unique look, and your picture will be posted on deyoungmuseum.org. Come enjoy live music from the Marcus Shelby Septet, cocktails, and fashion! An admission fee of $10 gives you entrance into all galleries until 8:45 pm.
