Sneak into the 2nd session of our local French expert's wine course. Let Raphael take you through various French wine regions, while you pick up tips on tasting, production, cultural significance, vocabulary and more. The course includes a tasting of 5 to 6 wines.

Tonight's region: wines from Alsace (France)

Almost all wines made in Alsace are white (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris...), except those made from the Pinot Noir grape which are pale red, often rosé. Yummy sparkling wines known as Crémant d'Alsace are also made. Much of the white wines of Alsace are aromatic, floral and spicy. Since they very seldom have any oak barrel aromas they tend to be very varietally pure in their character.
