Free Poetry Workshop February 7, 2009

Book By Authors is announcing its last free public writing workshop featuring the art of Poetry at Chiltepe Restaurant.

The workshop is in collaboration with "Book By Authors: The North Long Beach Anthology." This book is a compilation of 50 written works and 50 illustrations about North Long Beach. The collection will be published in May 2009 as a Connected Corridor Project and proceeds will benefit the Fairfield YMCA.

This writing workshop will help writers develop their own poetry and aid them in creating works to potentially be published in the North Long Beach Anthology.

The Poetry workshop will feature Mike Songsen aka Mike the Poet as the guest lecturer. Songsen is a local Long Beach writer, graduate from UCLA and former North Long Beach resident. He is the author of I'm alive in Los Angeles. Mike has hosted events all over Long Beach for the last 10 years.
