A lecture by renowned tattoo artist, painter, and printmaker Don Ed Hardy will take place October 4, 2006 at 7 pm in the Mills College Concert Hall. This event is presented by the Mills College Art Department and supported by the Correnah Wright Endowment Fund.

Don Ed Hardy is a painter and printmaker, and considered to be the godfather of modern tattoo art. Blending eastern influences with surf and hot-rod iconography, he has created a unique body of work. His tattoo work, known for its sophistication, depth and sense of experimentation, is full of technical brilliance and mesmerizing imagery. His painting and print work have been exhibited internationally, and Hardy has also received an honorary doctorate from the San Francisco Art Institute. Most recently, he has created a line of products ranging from shirts and shoes to energy drinks and motorcycles.
