Free Comic Book Day at Atlantis Comics May 1, 2010

Finally getting around to announcing what will be going on at the shop for Free Comic Book Day.

There is a sale! As in years past, FCBD is one of two days that a sale will be held here, so even if you don't want some free comics or to meet some awesome local artists, come for the sale!

30% off everything in the store with the following exceptions: New comics, $1 comics and comic supplies. Everything else is game. 30% off, folks. That isn't anything to sneeze at.

Mr. V, Lakewood's most famous unknown cartoonist will be debuting his brand new graphic novel, "Harley Chan The Ice Cream Man" at the shop that day. This will be a very special edition of 25 copies for FCBD only. Plus he will have buttons, t-shirts and mini comics available. And of course copies of his first GN,"Helen Doesn't Live Here" for sale. Come by to say hello and make a very angry cartoonist a very happy man.

Also appearing will be local artists Zak Kinsella and Gerhard Kaaihue. I believe they will have some very nice prints of their respective works to sell and I'm sure they would love to do any quick sketches and such things for you pleasant people. These two gents are really good friends whose work I want to expose to as many of you as possible. Very talented!!

I saw this morning that myself and a couple other shops were part of a very nice article in the Denver Post's Colorado Kids section. This is probably going to make it an even busier day than normal. So in the interest of not running out of FCBD titles in an hour, I am capping it at 3 comics per person this year. However, I did find a bunch of previous FCBD issues in the infamous back room the other week, and I will be letting people take as many of those as they want. No duplicates, though.

Ok, so this all goes down from 11-6 on May 1, 2010. I really hope I get to see a lot of you that day and I also hope so see a lot of new faces. It should be a wonderful day of celebrating comic books!
