Selim Kuru is a professor of Near Eastern Languages and Literatures at the University of Washington. Prof. Kuru's most recent work is Unruly Desires Unspeakable Words: Life and Works of the Sixteenth Century Poet Gazali and translation of the Book That Repels Sorrow and Removes Anxiety (Harvard Middle Eastern Monographs Series, forthcoming).
