Feeds, APIs, widgets, facebook apps, mobile and instant messaging mean that there are many ways for users to interact with a service without them having to visit the main website. When we first talked about building Dopplr, we wanted give users more choice about how they get their information into and out of the application. In this talk, we’ll describe how the site at dopplr.com is just one manifestation of a many-headed internet service. We’ll talk about how this affects the user interface design, information design and the data modeling, and how it strengthens the relationship between designer and developer.

To make reservations for this and future IDA meetings, we are moving to a web reservation service, so please make your booking quickly at: http://ida.eventwax.com/a-talk-on-dopplr/register/

It will ask you to pay £5 by Paypal. This website will tell you how many places are left, so there is no need to write to us to find out.

As before, it is on 1 July at 6:30 pm at the Design Council, 34 Bow Street, London, WC2E 7DL.
