The Change Collective have teamed up with Pindrop Theatre and Noh Budget Films – 2 of the leading training providers of the techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed (Boal) for practitioners - to deliver this Spring's Change-X-Change Forum Theatre Experience

Forum Theatre is a unique and wonderfully effective medium for engaging community groups in solution-focussed dialogue about some of the issues that affect them. A typical Forum Theatre piece would present a story similar to the actual experiences of the community and focus on a particular difficulty they face. The community audience are invited to stop the performance and attempt to change the course of action and work towards resolving the situation.

During this weeklong training you’ll experience a range of techniques from Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. Storytelling, image theatre, performance and facilitation will be used to explore social issues and generate material for performance. You will then be guided through a process of group devising to create your very own Forum Theatre piece that you will perform to a live audience.
