Fortepiano & Friends: Female and Male Composers in the Mix, 1750-1850 March 1, 2009

The Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University will welcome musicians Pamela Dellal, mezzo-soprano; Diane Heffner, classical clarinet; Na’ama Lion, classical flute; and WSRC scholar, Vivian Montgomery, fortepiano, to perform a colorful collection of classical and early romantic chamber and vocal works. The program includes music by Helene Montgeroult, Louis Spohr, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Mozart, and Maddalena Sirmen. The performance will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 in the Slosberg Recital Hall located at Brandeis University, 415 South St., Waltham, Mass. Admission is free.
