Comedy in which Charlie, a painfully shy Englishman passes himself off as a non-English speaker. Because everyone assumes that he can't actually understand them, he really "gets an earful" as characters speak their deepest thoughts to him, and members of the Ku Klux Klan plot openly in front of him. Of course, it all ends hilariosly.
