Under a Minnesota Historical Society Legacy Grant, Peter Shea has been traveling in the area around Windom, Minnesota this summer, talking to farmers, gardeners, a restaurant owner, food shelf administrators: people who having new thoughts about food and who are trying new ways of making food available within their own community. We will look at some excerpts from these conversations, trying to see what can be learned from such open-ended investigations and what further lines of inquiry these interviews suggest.
Peter Shea is a philosopher and long-time producer of The Bat of Minerva, a cable interview show. Valentine Cadieux is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Departments of Geography and Sociology at the University of Minnesota.

Please feel free to bring your lunch - beverages will be served.
