This was the worst operated and planned event EVER!! I waited in line to buy a meal for 5 hours and was 8ft. away from the window. I couldn't wait any longer. The staff never offered any water or snacks. The security didn't keep order for the lines. They just wore yellow t-shirts and walked around smiling. When 6pm arrived, security straightened lines at 2 food vendors. The staff shifted responsibility and blame with excuses like: The I.T. staff didn't run tests on software, so that's why the computers were down. We didn't expect 10,000 people to show up at the same time. If you want a refund, go leave, but it's not guaranteed. You can get a refund before 4pm. However, none of the staff , security or public announcements will be issued on the subject. We ran out of food for another hour. One of the cooking burners isn't working. The fact of the matter is the management security, and food vendors were incompetent , irrational, and unethical in its business practices on 6/13/09. They oversold the event. They didn't use basic math to forecast the number of customers with the number of food vendors. The security was understaffed and not deployed to control lines with vendors. No basic health care was offered. Like giving water or snacks to those in line for over 1 hr. Or giving water to babies in strollers. There were numerous excuses to shift responsibility. They'll do better next year?
I know 10,000 attendees who won't bother to attend a 2nd annual Food Festival. I'd also never attend any other event at the Shoreline Amphitheater!! The creators and profiteers of this event should be locked up for life in state prison! The district attorney , KGO-TV news and city council of Mountain View should pay attention to these facts.
