Refuge Refresh Exhibition. A photographic exploration of the theme Refuge, by 11 emerging South Australian artists.

On the back of their first successful exhibition, the local group of artists presents a new perspective on Refuge as a personal escape.

The first exhibition, described as a "ravishing collection" by Director of Greenhill Galleries, Russell Starke, ''brought attention on the subtleties and stories they tell about the artists who created them".

The participating group of artists met through worldwide photo-sharing site, Flickr, and have turned their online union into a meaningful collaboration.

The group has shared their passions for photographing everything from sunsets to gritty industrial buildings. In meeting places all over Adelaide and its surrounds, they have indulged in surreptitious photography of each other and ogling of one another's cameras, in between chatting about all things photography.

It is a diverse group, with people from different backgrounds, using everything from point-and-shoot cameras and digital SLRs to vintage film cameras. Yet each has a place in South Australia, a place of their own that they can reconnect with themselves, a place of refuge.

You can meet and have a drink with the photographers at the opening night, which starts at 7pm on Thursday, July 5th. They’ll be happy to discuss their work and interpretation of the theme.

The exhibition continues until Tuesday, 31st of July.
