A Flickr meetup for local photographers at a unique coffee house converted from an old gas station. Copper Star Coffee is happy to have us drink coffee, have breakfast, and take photos there, and it's an excellent springboard for a photo stroll in the artsy "Melrose on 7th Avenue" district known for its locally-owned businesses and retro clothing and furniture stores.

Daniel, could you also start a discussion thread in our flickr Meetup AZ group to bring more attention to this event? Thanks.

Done. (BTW, I would have "sent to group" but this was the first event I've ever hosted, so I didn't know about doing that.)

I missed you guys. 7am is so early. LOL! I got there about 8:10 and you guys were gone. I am night folk, but I tried. :) Maybe next time. Thank you for the invite.

Please hit me up when you guys are having your next meet and stroll.

The event was a hit! Six of us were there for coffee and breakfast (which was delicious, no?) and we all went for a photo stroll along that very interesting stretch of 7th Avenue. No one seemed in a hurry to go home; in fact, it was 9:15 before we said goodbye.

I encourage you to tag your photos "Copper Star Coffee" and/or "Melrose on 7th Avenue" to support local businesses and aggregate your photos with other photographers' photos of the same location.

Also, remember you can use the tag "upcoming:event=272826" to link the photos to the Upcoming event site and to aggregate your photos to others taken at that event. I don't believe you have to be a registered member of Upcoming in order to use this to tag the photos you took at the event. That Upcoming "machine tag" also acts just like any tag on Flickr and allows you to see all photos with that tag, view a slideshow, etc.
