BURNABY BUSINESS WOMEN - ONE TO ONE NETWORKING MONTHLY WOMEN'S SOCIAL DINNER MEETING AND SPEAKER
DATE: Thursday, February 23, 2012 (last Thursday of the month)

TOPIC: “First Aid and CPR Refresher”

SPEAKER: Dean Siemens, First Aid Instructor

DESCRIPTION: “First Aid and CPR Refresher” with Dean Siemens, First Aid Instructor

After spending 6 years in College and University studying Kinesiology/Sports Medicine, Dean was introduced to the Ambulance service and was instantly hooked. He completed Paramedic training in 1985 and began working Downtown (West End/ Main & Hastings). During the 25 years he worked in this area Dean was fortunate to be the Medical Coordinator for the Vancouver Triathalon, Marathon, Indy, Apec, Octoberfest, Seafest, First Night, English Bay Fireworks and the 2010 Olympics, as well as many other events.

Last year after receiving an award for working in Downtown longer than anyone in B.C. Ambulance history he decided to semi retire and now works in North Vancouver. Dean began teaching First Aid/CPR as a means of extra income while in University and has never stopped as it has given him a great opportunity to share what he has learned over the years and to meet so many wonderful people.
