Film "South of the Border" with Report Back from Cuba June 9, 2011

Join us for a film showing of “South of the Border” following an update by Gloria La Riva. She recently returned from Cuba, where she was awarded the Friendship Medal by the Cuban Council of State. La Riva will discuss the new Cuban economic policies, their impact on the country’s economy, and other developments in the struggle for liberation in Latin America.

There’s a revolution underway in South America, but most of the world doesn’t know it. Oliver Stone sets out on a road trip across five countries to explore the social and political movements as well as the mainstream media’s misperception of South America while interviewing seven of its elected presidents.
