Intense friendships carry a whiff of the erotic in the closed environment of Brangwyn College, an elite girls’ prep school, in this simmering and smartly contemporary gothic vampire tale by cult director Harron (AMERICAN PSYCHO). Based on the novel by Rachel Klein, the film features an easy-on-the-eyes cast of nubile rising stars, and weaves themes of female bonding, jealousy, and love into a story that eerily teases with its psychosexual strains. Still mourning the suicide of her poet father, Rebecca (Bolger) finds a mentor in a handsome English teacher and solace in the bff status of roommate Lucy (Sarah Gadon), until the arrival of ethereal new girl Ernessa (Cole) alters the chemistry.
