FILM: MOVE!

SALSA presents a fascinating new documentary on the full history of the radical and controversial movement, MOVE, created by John Africa in Philadelphia in the 1970's. Among other things, the film documents the 1978 shootout that left one police officer dead and nine MOVE members in jail as well as the 1985 bombing of the organizations headquarters that left 5 children and 6 adults dead. The story is told through interviews with actual MOVE members including the MOVE 9 prisoners, supporters and community residents, Philadelphia journalists and other outside opinions. Narrated by Howard Zinn, the documentary will be followed by a discussion with a member of MOVE. www.OnAMove.com
