In The New York Times, Nate Chinen wrote: “Since being founded by the trumpeter Dave Douglas in 2003, the Festival of New Trumpet Music [FONT] has reveled in newness and yes, trumpets, in rich profusion. And with each new season, it has become more of a festival, spreading out over the map as well as the calendar...” Jazz Standard will host a series of FONT performances featuring outstanding personnel and world premiers of specially commis­sioned works.

Dave Douglas’ latest series of Greenleaf Music CD releases were all recorded live at Jazz Standard. Jeremy Pelt made the cover of Down Beat in June 2007 and appears on the latest albums by Somi, Gerald Cleaver, and Roni Ben-Hur. Dr. Eddie Henderson was a key member of Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi band (1970-1973) and has re­corded as a leader for Capitol, Blue Note, Milestone, and Columbia.
