Diafrix & Chance Waters
Saturday 26 January 4:30pm - 6:30pm - Australia Day

Support the best emerging Australian hip hop artists this Australia Day with the strikingly unique Melbourne-based, African-born duo Diafrix and triple j Unearthed winner Chance Waters (formerly Phatchance).

Hailing from Comoros Islands and Eritrea, Diafrix’s story is unlike most Australian bands. Both African refugees, Momo arrived in Australia at the age of three while Azmarino arrived in Australia after a life in search for a home around the world including Jordan, Italy and Switzerland. Now based in Footscray, the duo's hip hop music aims to show an inspiring example of two dreamers overcoming hardship and obscurity.

Diafrix have built up a solid reputation for high-energy performances with their excitingly refreshing take on Australian music. The hip hop duo have supported the likes of Bruno Mars, Tinie Tempah, B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco. They recently collaborated with 360 and Dwele on their latest album, which includes crowd favourites Simple Man featuring Daniel Merriweather, Running It and new club single Helicopter.

In 2012 exciting hip hop artist Chance Waters ditched his Phatchance moniker and burst back in to the Australian music scene with new album Infinity. It debuted at #54 on the ARIA charts - his first top 100 album. Chance was also nominated for a triple j J Award and collaborated with Australian songstress Bertie Blackman and soul singer Lilian Blue. Chance has also supported many of Australia's biggest hip hop acts including Bliss N Eso, Drapht and 360.
