This Father?s Day, skip the tie and invite your Dad to explore wines from Buty Winery (pronounced ?beauty?), the Washington State winery in Walla Walla, known for their Rediviva blends, and meet the winemaker Caleb Foster. Tocqueville Restaurant will host a special Buty wine dinner with Caleb and wife Nina Buty Foster on June 19, 2005 (at 5:30pm)?Father?s Day.

Established in 2000,Buty Winery is one of the best new family wineries, known for their unusual approach to blending. Caleb and Nina's wines reflect experience developed from Caleb's 13 vintages of Washington and overseas winemaking. Buty focuses its winemaking effort in the vineyard first to grow character in the wines, and offers small cuvées of terroir driven wines, grown with balanced yields and high ripeness. Along with the Buty Rediviva, they produce regional cuvées of blended red and white wines, and classical vineyard-designated chardonnay with pronounced fruit and site expression.

Featured wines (listed below) include the prized 2002 and 2003 vintages. Rediviva, Northwest?s new classic, is the marriage of cabernet sauvignon?s intensity and syrah?s complexity. ?Rediviva of the Stones? favors syrah, and is grown in the ancestral Walla Walla riverbed cobblestones. ?Columbia Rediviva? is grown in the Horse Heaven Hills, and is dominated by cabernet sauvignon.

The wines will be paired with a five-course menu designed by chef/owner Marco Moreira, Chef de Cuisine George Mendes and Pastry Chef Ryan Butler.

Dinner starts at 5:30pm with passed hors d?oeuvres and the opportunity to meet and chat with the winemakers, followed by a sit-down dinner.
