Brecksville Reservation
Brecksville, Ohio

Help celebrate the pioneers of the Western Reserve at Cleveland Metroparks annual FallFest: 18th Century Festival. This fun, free, family-oriented event takes place in the great outdoors of Brecksville Reservation.

Between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, you can enjoy storytelling and the lively strains of folk music, dip your own candle, churn your own fresh butter, create a wood block print, play with pioneer toys and write with a real quill pen. You’ll hear the hammer of the blacksmith, the danceable beat of the Mud in Yer Eye band, and the gunfire of a Brigade of the American Revolution. Bring the whole family to smell the wood smoke, taste the fresh-pressed cider, and marvel at the magician! In addition, pony rides, food, and souvenirs will be available for sale.

And, from 1 to 5 p.m., learn about life in that era’s military through demonstrations performed by the Brigade of the American Revolution. In this encampment, see the 18th century soldier parade at 1 p.m., followed at 3 p.m. with the role of the 18th century women and their clothing, and camp tours and cooking demonstrations will be held all day. Plus, “The Redcoats” will battle the Americans in a 1777 mock battle at 4 p.m. Discover how the American forces used different tactics to turn back Crown Forces.
Pony rides are available for $4 a ride.
A shuttle bus will be available from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. at other marked picnic areas.

These activities and much more await your discovery at Meadows Picnic Area. Plenty of free parking and free shuttle bus rides are available.
