Faktion 8627: Disconnect|ToroToro|Sayaka! Last Fridays @ Anu! June 27, 2008

Continuing our tradition of bringing uniquely amazing talent, this month Faktion brings a rarely heard group of local headliners to the deck. We've got Friends&Family favorite TORO TORO this month, along with the Bliss Factory's legendary DISCONNECT, and a farewell performance from SAYAKA as she returns to her native Japan for an indefinite hiatus. We can't recall if these 3 towers of turntable (and other gear) talent have ever played together before, and more importantly it's not clear if we'll ever get the chance to have them together again, so this will be another party not to miss! Once again, VJ sensations HEROIC ROBOT return to transform this from mere club party to the stuff of legends!

DISCONNECT: Disconnect is a techno DJ currently based out of Oakland who spins a dreamy, groovin' laid back style with a dash of progressive and Neo Detroit thrown in. He has been throwing underground parties with the DEF crew since 2003, and is known for his depth and breadth of knowledge of all things techno.

TORO TORO: Unorthodox, brilliant and just plain kickass, Toro Toro's original style and track selection shows his industrial influence, yet remains true to the principles of modern minimal, and the better examples of electro house. Known for his versatility in the underground scene, we're proud to welcome him as a DJ in residence.

SAYAKA: Sayaka has been a San Francisco resident since 2004, known not only here but around the world for her consistent mastery of many genres of electronic music, including the always difficult downtempo. She hosted her own weekly techno event at Olive Bar, but decided to focus on her DJing, spinning melodic techno with flawless track selection and natural progression. Having been booked repeatedly in New York, Tokyo and other venues around the world, we wish her the best in her return to Japan. Don't miss this last chance to appreciate how easy she makes it look.
