The natural world has been a muse for artists throughout the ages, and jewelry designers have always shared that inspiration. Janet Zapata, jewelry historian and independent curator, traces the evolution of garden-inspired jewelry from the 19th century to the present, highlighting the work of Cartier, Lalique, Tiffany, and more. Visitors may come early to explore Hillwood’s gardens before the presentation. A book signing follows the lecture, with copies of Jeweled Garden: A Colorful History of Gems, Jewelry, and Nature available for purchase. This is the first of Fabulous Jewelry: A Lecture Series, running through June 10.
