Europe's oldest theatre company and one of its greatest comes to the Lincoln Center Festival with 'Fables de La Fontaine,' a witty visualization of the poetry of the French literary icon Jean de La Fontaine. These nineteen selected vignettes, lasting no more than five minutes each, breathe new life into La Fontaine's allegorical tales. Robert Wilson directs fifteen of France's finest actors in this whimsical work featuring marvelous masks and costumes that depict lions, birds, foxes, spiders, ants, stags and snakes as seen through the eyes of a 21st century visionary.
