On Saturday, August 18, 2007, local parents will unite to attend the F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Fathers, all Adults and Mothers Individually Leading Youth) JAMZ Summit. This is a free, community event for the entire family. Come have fun! It is a part of the Parents Speak Up National Campaign (PSUNC), a public education campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

This community event will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00pm at Kelly Miller Middle School, 301 49th Street, NE, Washington, DC. The organizers of the Summit are ZOE Group Foundation, DC Metropolitan Police, the PSUNC DC Community Abstinence Partnership, Kelly Miller Middle School, and Future Leaders Outreach Network (FLON) located in Kansas City, MO.

The F.A.M.I.L.Y. JAMZ Summit was developed to share motivational messages through spoken words and performing artists who support parents of pre-teens, and teens in their efforts to begin dialogue to communicate with their children about the importance of making healthy decisions to delay sexual activity. Setting boundaries from sex and other risky behaviors (e.g., drugs and alcohol) can help pre-teens and teens to focus on pursuing their dreams.

This is a free community event for the entire family and will include a keynote speaker, performing artists, food, and fun for the whole family.

Come have fun! This community event is a part of the Parents Speak Up National Campaign (PSUNC), a public education campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
