Exhibition of Sand Mandala and Butter Sculpture by the Gyuto Tantric University. Sand Mandala is a Tibetan Buddhist tradition that involves the creation and destruction of mandalas. The artform is basically a concentric diagram created by rubbing coloured sand granules, to reflect on the various spiritual themes of Buddhism. Butter Sculpture is an ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition usually created during the annual Monlam Festival and other religious occasions. A large butter sculpture can be over 10m long and 4m tall, or of any smaller sizes. Contact: 24619431.
