ETHEL's 2nd Annual Winter Solstice Concert December 21, 2007

ETHEL, the nation's premier rock-infused, postclassical string band, recognizes the rebirth of the winter season with its second annual IN THE HOUSE OF ETHEL: SOLSTICE concert. Presented by arts>World Financial Center, the program is part- musical installation. part- theatrical event designed specifically for the open public space at the Winter Garden. ETHEL, along with four guest pianists Stephen Gosling, Raja Rahman of Jarrett & Raja, Rob Schwimmer and Kathleen Supové, will showcase four new self-composed works for piano and strings: Take the 2 Train by Cornelius Dufallo; Solstice People by Ralph Farris; Grace by Dorothy Lawson; and Star Gazer by Mary Rowell. In addition to improvised music and works by notable contemporary composers, ETHEL will premiere Cereza by Amy Kohn and Citadelle by Raz Mesinai, and welcomes special guest illusionist Jarrett Parker of Jarrett & Raja.
