We can never remember who studies words and who studies bugs so we invited a scholar of each to come talk to us this Friday at 8pm. Brent Karner is an entomologist from the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, and will be bringing in various species of live arthropods to introduce to us individually. Eve Tulbert is joining us from UCLA’s Linguistic Anthropology program with a talk titled “Anarcho-etymology: The history of words not yet spoken”. With Entenmann’s doughnuts and edamame.
