The Beijing National Swimming Centre, better known as the 'Water Cube', will be one of the and exciting venues to feature sporting events for the 2008 Olympics. Enclosed within its blue are the pools for the Olympic swimming and diving competitions, seating and facilities for 17,000
a major leisure pool and a restaurant area carved out of its bubble structure.

Arup Fellow and Principal Tristram Carfrae will share his experience of how this unique building evolved and is coming to life. He will outline how the Water Cube resulted from a holistic design thinking that generated a new idea about what a structure should - or could ? be.
