Daniel Beaty’s provocative play Emergence-See! explores what centuries of slavery do to the psyche of humanity, and how free we really are at the dawn of the 21st Century. Beaty portrays a cast of 40 characters including a homeless man, a scientist, a republican business executive, a street vendor and an 11-year old boy from the projects.

Daniel Beaty is an award-winning actor, singer, writer and composer most recently seen on the third and fourth seasons of HBO’s Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry, as a guest artist on NBC’s Showtime at the Apollo with Ruben Studdard, and on BET’s 106 & Park. Beaty graduated with Honors from Yale University with a B.A. in English & Music. He also holds an M.F.A. in Acting from American Conservatory Theatre (ACT).
