Elia Kazan launched the careers of Marlon Brando, James Dean, Eli Wallach, Eva Marie Saint and Warren Beatty, to name a few. He inspired a generation of filmmakers from Sidney Lumet and John Cassavetes to Arthur Penn and Woody Allen. He favored real locations over sets, unknowns over stars, and realism over convenient genres. The Plaza Theatre screens four of Elia Kazan's classics.
