Northern California’s premier steppingstone to the Triple Crown events, the El Camino Real Derby is a 1 1/16-mile test for 3-year-olds. Heading the list of graduates from the El Camino Real Derby is Charismatic, the 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner who also earned honors as the 1999 Horse of the Year.
