Seraphim presents, Edward II, Marlowe's tale of love, power, and politics will be at the EXIT-on-Taylor theater though the month of February. Join us for the touching drama of the King and Gaveston, who find themselves at odds with the politics and pressures of their time. This production is set in the McCarthy era, when hundreds of Gay and Lesbians were ousted from the State department as “security risks,” preceding McCarthy’s communist witch-hunts of the 1950s. Influenced by David K. Johnson’s book, The Lavender Scare, Edward II plays Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until Feb. 24th and runs under 2 hours!
