* Celebration on the Square
Jun 14, 2008 The Celebration on Square encompasses a wide range of activities. This year we are broadening our entertainment to include a family fun zone with the hopes of encouraging another facet of our community to participate. There will be the beer gardens, the community and business fair, food vendors, buskers and a fantastic and fabulous main stage of entertainment, hosted by Edmonton’s own premier divas Vanity Fair and Bianca. At this event the Mayor will be officially proclaiming Edmonton's Pride Week. The party gets going at 3:00 pm and goes until 8:00 pm. The event has grown year after year and attracts a diverse cross section of our own community, as well as welcoming the greater Edmonton community to celebrate with us in Pride.
* 2008 Pride Parade
Jun 14, 2008 The Pride Parade starts at Jasper Avenue & 108 Street, travels east on Jasper Avenue, turns left onto 99 Street, travelling north, and winds up in Churchill Square. Groups are encouraged to submit a parade entry through the website. This year we are awarding cash prizes for best float, vehicle and walking entry. Join the crowds along Jasper Ave. to cheer on the parade. This year's parade marshall celebrates our queer families.
