Percussionist/timbalero Edgardo Cintron began playing at age 12 with Los Tropicales, and from there went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in Latin music. He formed Tiempo Noventa Orchestra in 1988, and later Cintron, a 17-piece 'high-octane' band of musicians with six albums to their credit, including the Grammy-nominated "Latin Cool's Hit Men" (2003). Cintron's infectious and crowd-pleasing style has wowed audiences at jazz festivals nationwide. As critic David Wasserman writes, "Cintron's ability to inject rhythm-and-blues song styling into classics makes for a breathtaking trip."
