Since his first appearance on the pages of Rolling Stone in 1968, he has epitomized the fiery and flamboyant rock 'n' roll guitar hero. As part of the McCoys, Rick Derringer had a smash hit in the 1960s with 'Hang on Sloopy' and hit it big many years later going solo with 'Rock 'n' Roll Hoochie Koo.'
