Brazzissimo! announces its Fall Concert, "Eclectic Brazzissimo!".

Brazzissimo! is a ten-piece brass ensemble modeled after the famous Brass Ensemble formed by British trumpeter Philip Jones in London in 1951. The basic instrumentation is 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, euphonium, French horn and tuba. Brazzissimo's musicians also employ piccolo trumpet, bass trombone, baritone, alto cornet, and flugelhorn. Brazzissimo's instrumentation allows full transcriptions of orchestral works to be played.

Brazzissimo! will perform original music for brass dectet by acclaimed composer and trumpet player Anthony DiLorenzo, as well as compositions and arrangements by Brazzissimo's own Dean Boysen. Dean Boysen will also be featured as trumpet soloist. The music will range from classical favorites to British TV show themes to tangos. A special feature will be performance of Stephen Verhelst's "A Song for Japan," written in response to this year's tsunami disaster. Funds will be collected to support the Japanese tsunami relief effort.

Comprised of brass musicians from around the San Francisco Bay Area, Brazzissimo! has performed with the Contra Costa Wind Symphony, the Diablo Symphony, and the Diablo Valley College Wind Ensemble. In 2004 Brazzissimo! performed at the International Cultural Festival in Beijing, China.
