This workshop introduces the making and use of circular drawings called mandalas for personal insight, healing and transformation.

Many cross-cultural examples exist where Mandalas and ritual circles are a tool for meditation, healing and connecting to celestial harmonies; Stonehenge, Navajo shamanic sand paintings, Aztec calendar stones, Gothic cathedral rose windows, labyrinths, in the spinning of Sufi Dervishes and probably most well known, the laboriously intricate Buddhist sand paintings.

The workshop approximately coincides with the Autumnal Equinox (September 23, 2006), traditionally a time for spiritual consolidation, celebrated as Rosh Hashanna, Ramadan, Second Harvest and other gatherings.

Participants do not need any artistic skill, just a willingness to explore the psyche as it guides towards integration with wholeness. Gentle yoga-inspired movement and breathing; guided meditation, artmaking and journaling comprise the workshop.
