CLUB DRAGSTRIP 66 MAKES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO
CELEBRATE ITS 18th ANNIVERSARY & "CLASSLESS REUNION" -
SATURDAY, JANUARY 22nd 2011 AT THE ECHOPLEX

Just like Cher, taxes, the flu, and Sarah Palin -
some things just NEVER go away! And after its
huge farewell party a year ago, Dragstrip 66 is
clearly not ready to hang up its heels & wigs either!

After a year-long break, Dragstrip 66 invites all its long-time regular revelers
and fresh-faced newbies to celebrate the club's 18th Anniversary
with a "Classless Reunion" (like Romy & Michelle, with trashier clothes).

* Freaks & Geeks * Stoners & Jocks * Teachers' Pets * Prom Queens *
* Mean Girls * Most Likely To Suck Seed * Least Likely To Get Laid *

On deck for an 11:00 PM performance, it's TRANZKONTINENTAL -
LA's bitchin' live glam-drag rock 'n roll band - featuring Xander Smith and
Charlie Paulson (from the original Club Makeup band), with fierce queens
Momma, Kelly Mantle, Detox, Rhea Litre', Willam & more on the mic!

DJ Paul V. spins hot electropop, indie beats, & mashups, and hostess
Gina Lotriman presents the stage show and 12:30am Promenade

About Dragstrip 66:
DRAGSTRIP 66 is/was a long-running monthly queer dance club in Los Angeles.
Co-created by Mr. Dan (aka hostess Gina Lotriman) & DJ Paul V. (ex-Indie 103.1),
Dragstrip launched in January 1993, and on the 2nd Saturday each month spent
its first 11 years at Rudolpho's of Silver Lake (RIP), then had a short time at The Echo
and Safari Sam's - and now happens at The Echoplex in Echo Park.
It became a beloved gay community marker and an "all-invited" home to unleash
all forms of self-expression, drag, cross-dress, & masquerade.

The club celebrated its 17th Anniversary and Grand Finale as
a regular monthly event with "Hat's All, Folks" in January 2010.

The LA Weekly & LA Times both wrote fantastic sendoffs:

"Dragstrip 66 carved out a niche for those who liked their night life
tempo somewhere between a John Waters film, a Bob Mackie
fashion show, and a drunken punk dance party."
- Ramie Becker, LA Times

James St. James & World Of Wonder captured the wild night on video here:

So get ready, LA - and as Ru Paul so famously commands:
"Start your engines!"
