15th Street and Prospect Park West
Brooklyn, New York 11215

Opening Earth Week, the Dow|LIVE EARTH Run for Water is a series of global run/walk events happening within a 24-hour period on April 18, 2010 to raise awareness about the shortage of safe drinking water in both developed and undeveloped countries.

With more than 150 cities on six continents participating in the 6K events, this is an opportunity to bring together tens of thousands of the world’s citizens and through a “quantity of voices” bring home the realities of water scarcity on both a local and international scale.

The event in Brooklyn's Prospect Park is one the Featured U.S. Cities of the Global Run for Water and features a 6K run/walk and a Water Village. 6K is the average distance a woman and/or child walks everyday to get drinking water in an undeveloped country. The Water Village is a great family event with interactive water-related exhibits, displays, food/beverage vendors and an A-List artist in concert (artist announced in February).
