The Presentation:
First, we will discuss what a mash-up is, and take a look at some of the best on-line examples.
Second, we will walk through a code sample of a simple mash-up: creating a slide show in Flash, using photos stored on flickr. Source code will be provided.
Third, a general discussion + question and answer period. Attendees are invited to bring URLs for their favorite mashups so that we can explore them together.
Doug Marttila:
Doug Marttila is VP of Technology at Visual i|o (www.visual-io.com), a leading provider of business-focused data visualizations with customers including Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, and Fidelity. He has spoken on data visualization at the Adobe MAX Conference. He blogs (occasionally) at forestandthetrees.com. His mashup (findr, located at tagtree.net) was nominated for a FlashForward application award in 2006.
