Doug Benson, star of the documentary Super High Me and creator of The Marijuana-Logues, headlines four smokin’ shows at Comix on June 20th and 21st.
Benson’s recent documentary, Super High Me, will be released on DVD on June 17th. Super High Me documents Doug not smoking pot for 30 days, and then smoking pot for 30 days in a row during which he gained eight pounds. “Remember kids,” Doug warns. "You should not smoke pot until you become a professional comedian."
Fans may also recognize Benson from his many television appearances on Best Week Ever, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mr. Show, The Sarah Silverman Program, his own half-hour special on Comedy Central, and as one of the top ten finalists on Last Comic Standing (ABC).
Benson was named Stoner of the Year by High Times Magazine and co-wrote and created The Marijuana-Logues with Tony Camin and Arj Barker, what in lesser hands might have just been a one-note, one-joke spoof of the then-red-hot production “The Vagina Monologues”. His hit show dubbed irresistibly funny by the Associated Press and has spawned a CD and Book The Marijuana-Logues: Everything About Pot That We Could Remember.
