"Doug Aitken lives and works in both New York and L.A. His work however, has been featured and awarded, across the globe. He has experience as a solo artist as well as a group exhibitor. Additionally he has worked in the commercial world in film, photography and video. He has produced/directed music videos for the likes of Fat Boy Slim, Bare Naked Ladies and ZZ Top. Aitken creates installations interweaving film, video, photographs. light and sound.

He is interested in questioning everything and re-thinking how our present is represent. His work has been described as having the production values of a National Geographic special and the sensory rush of an IMAX film. It is not confined to a certain stylistic groove but aims to construct rich narratives of self and place. Also described as provocative, beautiful, ambitious, thoughtful experiments."
