Double Feature: DOLLHOUSE, 2012, 95 min. Dir. Kirsten Sheridan. A group of five street teens breaks into an upper-class house in the Dublin suburb of Dalkey. With drugs and alcohol aplenty, the night quickly turns crazy and out-of-control, with truth games leading to unexpected revelations. Sheridan's raw third feature captures the anger, hopelessness and insecurity of being a teenager, and delivers perfectly controlled yet escalating tension. “A dynamic, delirious social allegory.” - Berlinale 2012.

DEATH OF A SUPERHERO, 2012, 97 min. Dir. Ian Fitzgibbon. Blending live action with animation and adapting a novel by Anthony McCarten, DEATH OF A SUPERHERO follows the fate of typical 15-year-old Donald (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Left bald and gaunt by chemo, Donald retreats into his own world, where he becomes an invincible superhero. Helped by a psychiatrist (mo-cap maestro Andy Serkis), his parents and the girl he falls in love with, Donald decides to make the most of his remaining days. Discussion between films with director Kirsten Sheridan and actor Jack Reynor (DOLLHOUSE).
