Double Feature: ARMY OF SHADOWS, 1969, Rialto Pictures, 145 min. Dir. Jean-Pierre Melville. Lino Ventura stars as Gerbier, a French Resistance mastermind during World War II who, with the help of his fierce compatriots (including a tough-as-nails Simone Signoret), takes the fight against the German Occupation underground. But Gerbier comes to realize there is a dangerously hazy line between an admirable act and a despicable one.
