Created and hosted by Mana Maddy, Ashkenaz’s monthly Songwriters’ Open Mic Night is usually held on second Sundays. It’s an intimate showcase for talented songwriters and singers (and bands), giving them a supportive audience and a chance to gain valuable performance experience without having to book a whole gig. Each night includes a featured act that performs a longer set. August’s featured artist is Brian Bergeron.

Open Mic for performers: Solo, duo, or trios only. Sign up on arrival. Names will be drawn from a hat to determine order of performance. There is a five-minute maximum, including setup/breakdown. Piano available, but no drum kit. Original songs only – no covers. Bring two non-performing friends and your admission is free.
